Gosh, I am a slacker!! So much has gone on in the last 4 and a half months. I finally had my first baby girl on Aug. 29, 2011 at 11:44pm. We named her after my mother, Hilary Catherine Wood. She weighted 7pds 8 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. She has been such a sweet baby and she's a good sleeper too which is a plus. She will be 5 months next week and sleeps 13 hours straight each night. Hil brings so much joy into our family and her big brothers love her SO much! The minute they hear her wake up in the morning, they bolt up the stairs and go right to her room and kiss and talk to her. They are so loving and so gentle and protective of her. Hilary is always smiling, she has such a sweet little spirit about her. She has her daddy wrapped around her little finger already and when she wants anything he is at her beck and call. She is spoiled and is SO high maintenance already! She is so much more emotional than my boys ever were.
When Hil was five weeks old I took her and the boys to Colorado to meet some of my family for the first time. My Grandma Kay hogged her the whole time and that's when the spoiling begun! It was so nice to see everyone and it gave me a break too. The hardest time was when we had to leave and my Grandma and Grandpa started to cry, that was so heartbreaking! They live in Michigan so we don't get to see them very much. I'm so glad that they were able to come out.
Halloween time was so much fun, Jaden dressed up as the Angry Bird and Easton was a pirate. They looked so cute. We had some of the family over for dinner and then we all went Trick-or-Treating together with some of our friends. Little Hil just hung out at home with Papa Greg and gave out candy. Such a fun night we had. Each year it gets more and more fun as my kids grow up and understand the holidays more.
The first weekend in November Jordan blessed the baby and my dad and Geri came out for the weekend. It was so nice to be able to hang out with them and spend time together. Jordan did such a great Job on blessing baby Hil.
We spent Thanksgiving up in Ogden which is always a blast, with Jordan's dad's side of the family. His Aunt Carol works so hard to make is so special and she is a fabulous cook!
In December we had the chance to go up to Park City and stay there for a week. It was so fun but a little stressful having a sick baby with Rsv. Jordan took the boys skiing for the first time and they absolutely loved it!! They did really well too!! Next year we are going to get season passes so our kids can go more often. The place we stayed was such a nice place, they had crafts everyday for kids and so many fun and entertaining things we could do with our kids!
A week before Christmas Jordan had shoulder surgery, he has had a hard recovery but I think he is slowly getting better. He's had to learn to use his left hand and has had to learn how to take care of 3 kids while I am at work. I know it's been such a struggle for him, he says if he knew it was this bad of a recovery he wouldn't have had it done. I hope when he starts physical therapy he will be able to recover faster. It's been a hard road the last couple months but I have to tell myself it could always be worse.
Christmas was so much fun this year. I love how fun it is since my kids are getting a little older to understand it all. We went over Christmas Eve to Jords Parents house and had a really nice dinner, made ginger bread houses and decorated cookies. The Kids then got to open a gift from Grandpa and Grandma (which every year they always buy them Christmas Pajamas). We read the Scriptures of when the Savior was born and explained it to our kids about what the true meaning of Christmas is all about. I want that to be more of the focus in our house then what Santa brings. They loved it! The best part of the night is we each take a turn with a bell and have to get up in front of everyone and sing our favorite Christmas song........it's SOOO entertaining! HAHA!
On our way home that night we kept seeing lights in the sky and our kids thought it was Santa and his reindeer, it was so cute how excited the were! When we got home we went outside and spread reindeer food all over the lawn and then to bed it was! I have never seen my kids more excited to go to bed than on Christmas eve! LOL
Christmas morning was the best!!! I get a little of the excitement of when I was little when my kids get excited on Christmas. We had everyone over for breakfast that morning, it's our new tradition that we've started when we moved into our new house. It was such a fun day that I will cherish the rest of my life. I hate the thought of when one day my kids will be all grown up and they won't be running down the stairs to see what Santa brought them :( I will cherish all these special times and take a picture in my mind and never forget!
Very nice post. I love you.
